Themed “Creative Classrooms Go 4G: Teach Green, Learn Green, Act Green, Live Green”, the conference aims to encourage the integration of ICT, art and local culture in environmental education.
The 11th ASEF ClassNet Conference falls under the greater framework of the ASEF Classroom Network (ASEF ClassNet) programme. Launched in December 1998, the ASEF ClassNet programme aims to foster collaborations among secondary and high school teachers and students in Asia and Europe. The Network harnesses the potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in connecting secondary and high schools in Asia and Europe and constructing a framework for a "cyber classroom" that would promote and facilitate intellectual and inter-cultural exchanges among secondary and high school teachers and students of the two regions.
The 11 th ASEF ClassNet Conference is open to two secondary or high school teachers from each of the ASEM countries. The programme consists of the following:
Professional enrichment for participants
Presentations of ASEF ClassNet Projects and Awards
Discussion and development of future ASEF ClassNet Projects
Exchange of information and best practices on green actions
For participants to fully benefit from the Conference, they should:
be proficient in both spoken and written English;
have a keen interest in integrating ICT, art and local culture in environmental education;
willing to share, exchange information and best practices on green actions in the schools and beyond;
ready to cooperate with schools in Asia and Europe on a collaborative project and/or to propose new project ideas;
possess basic knowledge of ICT.
The organisers will cover all local costs in connection with the Conference, including twin-sharing accommodation from 28 October to 1 November (4 nights, room charges only), meals and local transportation. Participants are, however, requested to cover the travel costs to and fro Bali, Indonesia either on their own, or with the support of their secondary/high schools or other agencies.
