The Secretariat of the Hungarian National Commission for UNESCO is situated within the Ministry of National Resources. The Secretariat is part of the Minister’s Cabinet, being close to the Minister of National Resources (responsible for Cultural, Education, Social, Family and Youth Affairs, Healthcare and Sport) the Secretariat can achieve better communication with relevant governmental bodies concerning UNESCO related tasks and duties. A Government Decree is adopted in order to secure the Commission’s position to clearly state the responsibilities of the Government in addressing tasks that arise from Hungary’s UNESCO membership.
